About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Hospital Engineer to join our team at One Hatfield Hospital. As a Senior Hospital Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and building services required of the hospital, ensuring that our facilities are safe, efficient, and effective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the Hospital Engineer and ensure that all statutory insurance inspections are undertaken and remedial tasks are resolved within hospital/region.
  • Ensure response to all reactive calls within Service Level Agreement (SLA) and escalate reactive calls which require specialist involvement to resolve.
  • Provide advice on technical and compliance issues affecting the site to clinical and non-clinical staff, and provide input, advice, and support of policies & procedures.
  • Ensure all Corporate led engineering initiatives are implemented within hospital and provide feedback on findings to enable a continuous improvement of planned maintenance & maintenance techniques working towards a condition-based maintenance regime.
  • Provide operational support and input to Project Management as and when required, ensuring common standards and specifications are utilised throughout the hospital/region.
Requirements
  • G.C.S.E in math and English or equivalent, and City & Guilds Part 3, HNC, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in building maintenance, general maintenance, and DIY, and previous experience in building service management and engineering.
  • Experience in line managing in a Maintenance Environment post apprenticeship or qualifications gained, and experience in managing and co-ordinating Contractors and Service Engineers.
  • Understanding of Quality Management, customer satisfaction, and the continuous improvement process, and excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of organisation & time management skills, particularly in an environment with multiple, and sometimes conflicting priorities.
