Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to join our team at HUBER+SUHNER Polatis. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of design and development, with a focus on PCB assembly and rework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and assemble PCBs to support fast development timescales
  • Provide feedback to engineering teams on design for manufacture
  • Create work instructions to outline changes or improve build processes
  • Rework, repair, and modify PCB assemblies to support development activities
  • Act as a champion for 5S approach, helping team members to coordinate and run engineering lab facilities
  • Manufacture wiring looms and test equipment
  • Monitor production orders and procure key parts to support fast turn manufacture of electronic hardware and test equipment
Requirements
  • Experience in manufacturing and rework of complex PCB assemblies, including BGA's, QFP's, and electro-mechanical optical parts
  • Building prototype PCB assemblies
  • Creating wiring looms from engineering drawings
  • Building bespoke test equipment
  • Working with optical fibers
  • Building mechanical and electronic assemblies to drawings and work instructions
  • Running automatic test equipment
  • Running manual test procedures to test newly built hardware
  • Supporting the setup and installation of electronic hardware in test racks or test benches
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • IPC-J-STD-001 training
  • Previous experience working in a production environment
  • Keen knowledge in electronics and IT
  • Experience working to drawings and work instructions
  • Experience running basic tests
  • Good fundamental knowledge of different manufacturing techniques for PCB assemblies
  • Strong communication skills
  • DFM & DFT knowledge
  • Motivated, hardworking, and a strong team player
  • Enjoy solving problems and helping others
