Programme Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Programme Manager to join our client's dynamic and growing engineering team at Yoh, A Day & Zimmermann Company. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the design and development of cutting-edge underwater products and defense projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Programme Management Expertise: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of programme management methods and principles, including programme planning, execution, and control.
  • Defence Programmes Delivery: Manage and deliver complex, high-value defence programmes with a minimum of 5 years' experience, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Project Execution: Ensure programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification through meticulous planning, resourcing, and execution.
  • Comprehensive Planning: Produce and review project specifications and designs, documenting functional requirements and performance characteristics.
  • Cost Monitoring: Establish and monitor Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) estimations, reporting deviations to Senior Management.
  • Budget Management: Create and manage programme budgets effectively, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
  • Risk Management: Identify and communicate programme risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  • Team Goal Setting: Set clear objectives and tasks for the team, ensuring alignment with programme goals and objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain relationships with team members, vendors, and partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Reporting: Compile progress reports and present to management and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on programme status.
  • Project & Resource Planning: Utilize MS Project for effective project and resource planning, ensuring optimal resource allocation and programme efficiency.
  • Multi-Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines, prioritizing tasks and resources to ensure successful programme delivery.

Requirements:

  • Leadership and Motivation: Exhibit strong leadership and motivational skills, inspiring team members to achieve programme goals.
  • Self-Motivation: Highly self-driven with energy, pace, and enthusiasm, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to programme success.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills at all levels within and outside the company, ensuring effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Negotiation and Conflict Resolution: Proficient in negotiation, coalition building, and conflict resolution, resolving programme-related issues and disputes.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate strong attention to detail and time management skills, ensuring programme deliverables are met on time and to specification.
  • Educational Background: Hold a BSc/BEng or equivalent in Engineering or a related discipline (minimum 2:1).
  • Certification: Possess an Association of Project Management (APM) qualification or similar project management certification.

Security Clearance: The candidate must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC) for this position.
