The NHS Tayside Digital Directorate is seeking a skilled Systems Support Technician to join the Unified Communications Team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic Service Delivery team as a key technical resource. The Team is responsible for IP Telephony Services and associated Unified Communications tools to users throughout NHS Tayside. Duties will consist of the day-to-day BAU work, including handling 2nd line support calls, as well as involvement in key project/service improvement work as required.

Key Requirements:

The successful candidate should have a solid understanding of Unified Communication Technologies, knowledge of Computer Networks, and awareness of IPT technologies. Previous experience in supporting technical requests and notable experience of working in an ICT environment are essential.

The post requires education to a minimum of diploma level, preferably in the IT field, or relevant ICT support experience. Key skills and qualifications include:


A deep understanding of Unified Communication technologies.


Proactive approach to problem resolution, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


Awareness of emerging technologies and trends.


Focus on Customer Service.


Ability to work to deadlines.


Excellent communication skills for liaising with 3rd party contractors and colleagues both verbally and written.

This role will include the above responsibilities, with a key element being the support of colleagues with technical decision-making, including the production of knowledge base articles as required.

This post will be based at Maryfield House in Dundee, with travel to other NHS Tayside sites necessary. Participation in a rotational on-call rota will be required.

Hours of work will be 37 hours per week.
