About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager to join our team at Lloyd's Register. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining good procurement practices and vendor management disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to drive business growth and improve customer satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Design and manage procurement project plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of contracts.
- Lead on requests for information, quotations, and proposals, and negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Manage the commercial bid process and assess risks to ensure successful contract award.
- Forge and maintain trusted partnerships with suppliers to drive continuous improvement and value creation.
- Work within our governance model to ensure compliance with procurement methodologies and standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial, procurement, or supply chain role.
- Professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) is preferred.
- Degree-level educated in a relevant field.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience of 3rd-party negotiations, commercial terms, contracting, and vendor management.
- Sound understanding and experience of supplier development and relationship management.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change in a complex and diverse environment.
- Fluent written and spoken English with ability to liaise effectively with internal and external personnel.
