We are excited to announce a vacancy within the Infrastructure PDP, seeking a motivated and skilled Project Manager to enhance our North, Scotland, and Northern Ireland (NS&NI) practice, operating from our Glasgow office. This position presents an outstanding opportunity for a qualified individual eager to advance their career and manage projects from conception to completion. You will be a seasoned Project Manager within the infrastructure domain, with the chance to broaden your career and gain experience across a diverse array of stimulating projects in multiple sectors. The role will likely involve a blend of agile working from our NS&NI offices alongside time spent at client locations and project sites.

The demand for this recruitment stems from the success of our division and our anticipated growth within the Northern regions across various sectors, primarily focusing on Nuclear, Defence, and Water. Additionally, we foresee significant expansion within our Energy sector.

Working within the Infrastructure PDP allows you to engage with the full spectrum of projects that AtkinsRéalis undertakes, including refurbishment and new construction projects, nuclear developments, defence initiatives, water projects, and more. This role will enable you to showcase and enhance your project management expertise, knowledge, and experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee project management and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure a shared understanding of requirements, scope, schedule, costs, constraints, risks, and interfaces among the team.
  • Lead the project team by building, motivating, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Engage and communicate with clients on a project-by-project basis.
  • Establish governance frameworks for projects in line with corporate policies and procedures to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Prioritize safety throughout project delivery.
  • Manage the project within the agreed budgets set by clients and AtkinsRéalis.
  • Handle risk management (and opportunities) from project inception to completion.
  • Administer and negotiate change controls throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee approved subcontractor procurement processes.
  • Provide clear and accurate monitoring and reporting of project performance against schedule, technical quality, financial, and KPI targets, both internally and externally.
  • Mentor and develop Assistant Project Managers and other team members as needed.
  • Deliver projects in alignment with AtkinsRéalis Values: Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, and Innovation.
Qualifications:
  • Preferably possess a background in Project Management, Engineering, Building Surveying, or Architecture, with experience in design management, project management, and contract administration.
  • APM PMQ (or equivalent) recognized competency in Project Management is desirable.
  • Familiarity with various construction contract forms, particularly NEC3 or 4 and/or bespoke contracts.
  • Experience managing projects from inception to completion in accordance with sector standards for project design lifecycle and maturity.
  • Experience collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary design teams.
  • Strong client-facing and customer service skills, with the ability to comprehend client requirements.
  • Ability to lead a delivery team confidently, demonstrating appropriate knowledge, skills, and attitude.
  • Trusted by peers, seniors, and clients to act in the best interests of all parties, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Sound business acumen and strong risk/commercial awareness to ensure profitability.
  • Aptitude for work winning through exceptional service delivery and understanding of bid processes and pricing models.
