Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Quality, Safety and Experience Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the delivery of safe and effective healthcare to patients throughout the Clinical Board.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that effective and efficient quality, safety and governance mechanisms are in place, particularly in respect of patient safety incidents, risk management and adverse events. This will involve working closely with the Director of Nursing, their Deputy and the Head of Quality and Governance for Medicine to investigate patient safety incident reports and disseminate learning throughout the multi-disciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background and experience of risk management and clinical governance. They will be able to demonstrate strong leadership qualities and provide inspirational leadership while acting as a positive role model for the Critical Care staff.

Requirements
  • Education to MSc level in a relevant healthcare-associated subject or evidence of equivalent experience
  • Relevant professional qualification with current registration
  • Clinical background
  • Previous experience of risk management/clinical governance
  • Health-care experience at a senior level
Desirable Skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in written work, at all levels of staff and with the general public
  • Experience of using Datix or similar software
  • Capacity to think strategically and produce new approaches and views to problems
