Key Responsibilities

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide essential support to children with special educational needs in a Rotherham primary school. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children with SEN and a passion for creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide one-to-one or small group support to children with SEN, including those with ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
  • To work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to develop and implement tailored support plans that meet the individual needs of each child.
  • To foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • To assist with classroom management and daily activities, ensuring the smooth operation of the school.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with children with SEN (in a professional or personal capacity).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to learning and development, with a focus on meeting the individual needs of each child.
  • An understanding of safeguarding practices and protocols, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment.
