About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and committed individual to join our thriving therapy family as a Rehabilitation Support Worker (RSW) in our Stroke and Neurology team at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide rehabilitation for patients who have been diagnosed with a stroke or neurological condition, working under the supervision of qualified Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and practitioner staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide rehabilitation for patients with stroke or neurological conditions
  • Work under supervision of qualified therapists and nursing support workers
  • Complete treatment programmes, including individual exercise plans and exercise groups
  • Manage electronic documentation
  • Be compassionate and caring, and fulfill the Trust's promises in every contact

Person Specification

Knowledge

  • Understanding of stroke and/or neurological conditions and their impact on patients

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 Healthcare or equivalent experience or be prepared to undertake that or similar programme within 6 months of taking up post

Experience

  • Experience of working within an Acute healthcare setting
  • Experience of working within a rehabilitation setting
