Consultant in Oral Medicine (Consultant) - Dentistry

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our well-integrated team in the Department of Oral Medicine.

As a leading provider of oral health services, we are committed to delivering high-quality care to our patients. Our team is at the forefront of the specialty, with a strong focus on clinical and academic excellence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a clinical oral medicine service for adult and pediatric patients, including assessment and treatment planning for new referrals. They will also be expected to run and manage outpatient clinics and treatment lists, undertake patient administration, and participate in clinical governance activities.

The primary aim of this appointment is to join our existing team to provide consultant-led service at tertiary level to the population of the North-East and beyond. The post holder will contribute to all aspects of the clinical activity of the Department of Oral Medicine, including the management of oral-facial pain, salivary gland disorders, and the non-surgical management of oral ulceration, inflammatory and infective disorders.

Candidates are required to hold dental qualifications and be on the GDC's specialist list in Oral Medicine or likely soon to be eligible for inclusion on the GDC specialist list for Oral Medicine.

The post holder will be responsible to the Lead Clinician in Oral Medicine, the Clinical Director, and operationally to the Clinical Services Manager at Newcastle Dental Hospital.
