Location: Bath, Somerset
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 (depending on experience)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teacher to work with students who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges. As an SEMH Teacher, you will help students achieve academic success and emotional resilience in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEMH difficulties.
- Implement individualized learning plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
- Provide emotional and behavioral support to students to help them overcome barriers to learning.
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that fosters the social and emotional development of each student.
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure holistic support.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to stakeholders.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the well-being of all students.
About You:
You are a passionate, patient, and resilient individual who thrives on making a positive difference in young people's lives. You will have experience working with children or young adults with SEMH needs and be committed to helping them succeed both academically and personally.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs or in a similar SEN setting.
- Strong behavior management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practices and mental health support strategies.
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications or training in SEMH, SEN, or Mental Health First Aid.
- Experience working in alternative provision or specialist settings.
