About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speciality Doctor to join our team in a beautiful South Manchester location. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a crucial role in the development of our service specialising in the support of females with acute mental health care needs.
About the Hospital
Our hospital is a fully refurbished facility with over four wards and an attached step-down unit. We have heavily invested in state-of-the-art technology to spearhead a new approach to psychotherapies, including coffee shops, a gym, and virtual consultation rooms. Our clinical team encourages full involvement of the service user, their family, and external professionals throughout their stay.
Job Responsibilities
As a Speciality Doctor, you will work alongside the CMO to care for patients referred to the unit from local NHS trusts and those further afield. Your responsibilities will include clerking in new patients, reviewing their mental/physical state, attending and contributing to tribunals, and working with the wider MDT to ensure treatment plans are formulated, executed, and frequently reviewed.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Full GMC registration
- Relevant experience within psychiatric hospitals
- Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 (2007) and Code of Practice along with Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity
- The ability to interview, assess, and treat patients and write clear comprehensive medical notes
- Desirable: Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists, Physicians, General Practitioners, or equivalent
