About the Role

Viberoptix is a dynamic telecommunications company that delivers cutting-edge services to fibre network providers across the UK and Ireland. We are seeking a highly skilled Fibre Network Planner to join our team in Cumbria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-site planning and coordination of splicing work, including job requirements, permits, and traffic management.
  • Liaise with permits and traffic management coordinators to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place.
  • Provide assistance to splicers on site, including acting as a second person for duties such as pit lid lifts and mechanical lifters.
  • Assess sites and ensure site set-ups are correct, with all compliance documents complete and accurate.
  • Provide reports on site compliance within the splicing team.
  • Liaise with cable teams and managers to assess cable locations and readiness for splicing.
  • Identify and notify the design department of joint locations and amendments as required.
  • Provide general support to the splicing team, including splicing and testing.
  • Ensure relevant Health & Safety standards are followed and achieved.
Requirements
  • Ability to produce, update, and interpret records of daily work logs, data recordings, and network design maps.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience of testing and splicing on a fibre network.
  • Confident working at heights and underground networks when required.
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Full valid driving licence.
