Human Factors Engineer Opportunity

Meritus is seeking a skilled Human Factors Engineer to join our team on a 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a major project, contributing to the development of cutting-edge technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Human Factors Integration throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring progressive assurance to our clients.
  • Develop User Interface prototypes and conduct Human-Centered Design to optimize the human-machine relationship.
  • Analyze and assess the role of the operator within the system, considering weapon system planning, command, and control.
  • Conduct User Experiments and Trials to support system conception, development, and verification, taking into account operator workload and situational awareness.
  • Assess physical ergonomics, equipment, and integration into workspaces.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF).
  • Application of Human Factors Integration and Human Factors Engineering in a Defence context.
  • Conduct of core HF activities, including task analysis, requirements development, user trials, and experimentation.
  • Application of physical ergonomics and use of CAD software such as Jack or RAMSIS.
  • Good understanding of Systems Engineering and disciplines that interact with Human Factors, including Supportability, Training, and Systems.
  • MS Office, DOORS.
  • Good planning skills.
