About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a qualified Mathematics Teacher to join their team at a school in The New Forest, Southampton. The school values inclusivity and strives to create a stimulating environment where students feel welcome and inspired to reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering Mathematics lessons in accordance with the national curriculum, demonstrating a strong desire to work within a SEN setting. They will be approachable, flexible, and adaptable, with a focus on making a positive impact on students' lives.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality education, care, and support to young people. They will be able to communicate effectively and establish strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver Mathematics lessons in accordance with the national curriculum.
  • Demonstrate a strong desire to work within a SEN setting.
  • Be approachable, flexible, and adaptable, with a focus on making a positive impact on students' lives.
  • Provide support to each student with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in an educational environment.
  • Utilise effective communication and relationship-building skills to foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Show passion for delivering high-quality education, care, and support to young people.
  • When necessary, physically intervene using Team Teach techniques after de-escalation strategies have been unsuccessful (full training provided).
  • Build strong team commitment with colleagues and engage pupils to motivate and inspire them in the classroom.
  • Acquire appropriate books, teaching aids, and resources as needed.
Requirements
  • Must be based in the UK and not require sponsorship.
  • Holds QTS or equivalent is essential.
  • Exhibits proactive, energetic, compassionate, flexible and adaptable qualities.
  • Provides a verifiable work history.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience.
  • Strong desire to work in a SEN setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish strong relationships.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license is desirable.
