Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team at Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, working closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will have a broad experience of working in various clinical areas, including elderly care, neurology, general medicine, orthopaedics, and respiratory care. They will also have good knowledge of current best practice in specialist physiotherapy and be able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat patients with musculoskeletal conditions
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to other staff members
  • Participate in health, safety, and risk management

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a degree in physiotherapy, be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will also have the ability to work flexibly and have access to their own transport for work purposes.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Clinical experience of working in a related clinical area
  • Experience as a physiotherapist in the NHS and awareness of current NHS and organisation issues
  • Respiratory on call competent as relevant to the post being applied for

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent clinical reasoning skills
  • Ability to work under own initiative, be adaptable, flexible, compassionate, and approachable
  • Effective communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills

Qualifications and Training

  • Degree in physiotherapy or equivalent
  • HCPC registered physiotherapist
  • Relevant post grad level training or equivalent relevant experience

  • Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance
