Maintenance Manager Role and Responsibilities:
  1. Maintenance Strategy Management: Ensuring all maintenance tasks align with the company's strategy and goals, driving business growth and efficiency.
  2. Team Management: Leading the maintenance team to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance, performance evaluations, and team development, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  3. Leadership and Performance Management: Driving change, managing performance (both high and low), identifying training needs, and providing regular feedback and coaching to ensure team members reach their full potential.
  4. Supervisor and Coordinator Management: Overseeing Maintenance Supervisors and Maintenance Coordinators to effectively manage contractors, stock, and maintenance schedules, ensuring seamless operations and minimizing downtime.
  5. Compliance Management: Ensuring compliance with legislation, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards like ISO certifications, maintaining a safe and sustainable work environment.
  6. Continuous Improvement: Utilising root cause analysis to drive improvements in maintenance processes, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing effective solutions.
  7. Attendance and Performance Monitoring: Reporting any issues related to staff attendance, punctuality, and performance to management, ensuring accountability and addressing any concerns promptly.
  8. Disciplinary Procedures: Conducting investigations in line with company policies regarding disciplinary and health and safety matters, maintaining a fair and consistent approach.
Maintenance Manager Essential Skills:
  1. Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail, with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  2. At least three years of experience managing a maintenance team, with a proven track record of success.
  3. Experience in fast-paced maintenance environments, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  4. PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) maintenance and fault-finding skills, with a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  5. Experience in the waste and recycling sector is advantageous, with knowledge of industry-specific regulations and best practices.
  6. Competency with Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and other software tools, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  7. Strong leadership and motivational skills, especially when working with multi-skilled teams, with a focus on employee development and engagement.
