We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a local SEND school. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to learn and a strong understanding of ASD and its challenges. The role involves supporting pupils with personal care and engaging with them in and out of class. The school offers a unique learning environment with a small number of pupils per class and a focus on teaching to the ECHP to achieve desired outcomes. The position is available from September, with interviews scheduled weekly. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and expect every candidate to share this commitment. Placements are subject to appropriate Child Protection screening, including checks with former employers and the Disclosure and Barring Checks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with personal care
  • Engaging with pupils in and out of class
  • Working with a small number of pupils per class
  • Teaching to the ECHP to achieve desired outcomes

Requirements:

  • No experience required, but a willingness to learn
  • Awareness of ASD and its challenges
  • Ability to work with pupils with SEMH
