Job Title: Residential Children's Home Director

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Witham, Essex

Salary: £40,000 - £60,000

M/LK Education Search is seeking an experienced Residential Children's Home Director to oversee the effective operation and management of a residential children's home. The primary responsibility is to prioritize the needs of vulnerable children and young people.

  1. Overall Management: Ensure the residential children's home operates smoothly in line with regulatory standards, organisational policies, and best practices.
  2. Staff Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of residential support workers, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and equipped to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people.
  3. Care Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement individual care plans for each child or young person, in consultation with stakeholders such as social workers, parents, and guardians. Regularly review and update care plans to meet changing needs.
  4. Safeguarding and Child Protection: Maintain a safe and secure home environment, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures. Address any safeguarding concerns or incidents promptly and appropriately.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and inspection frameworks, including those set out by Ofsted.
  6. Budget Management: Effectively manage the home's budget, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately to meet the needs of children and young people while maintaining financial sustainability.
  7. Partnership Working: Establish and maintain effective partnerships with external agencies and professionals involved in the care and support of children and young people, including local authorities, health services, schools, and community organisations.
  8. Quality Assurance and Improvement: Implement systems for monitoring and evaluating the quality of care provided. Proactively improve standards and outcomes for children and young people.
  9. Supporting Transitions: Support children and young people in transitioning into and out of the home, working collaboratively with relevant agencies to ensure continuity of care and support.
Qualifications:
  1. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services;
  2. Proven experience in managing a residential children's home or similar setting;
  3. Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements;
  4. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Requirements:
  1. 5 years of experience working with children in a residential care environment in the last five years and at least one year as a registered manager;
  2. Management Experience: Proven leadership in managing residential children's homes, including staff management and service delivery.
