Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) to promote their learning and development in a school for pupils with generic learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Pupils with SEN: Provide general classroom support to pupils with SEN, promoting their learning and development in a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Deliver Interventions: Deliver high-quality interventions to pupils with SEN, either in small groups or one-to-one basis, to support their learning and development.
  • Manage Daily Schedules: Manage daily schedules for pupils with SEN, including activities, toilet breaks, lunch, and rest time.
  • Safeguarding: Follow the principles of safeguarding to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
  • Meet Cognitive, Social, and Emotional Needs: Ensure that each child's cognitive, social, and emotional needs are met.
  • Ensure a Safe Environment: Ensure that the education environment is a safe place for children, with safe equipment and high standards of hygiene.
  • Foster Growth and Independence: Foster children's growth, self-esteem, and independence.
  • Plan and Deliver Focused Learning Opportunities: Plan and deliver focused learning opportunities for individual children and carry out focused tasks from individual SEND action plans.
  • Work with Key Workers: Work with key workers to discuss each child's individual needs.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: GCSE or A-Level qualifications or equivalent are required.
  • Experience: Experience working with children with SEN is desirable but not required.
  • Background: A care worker background is desirable.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Hourly Rate: £12.90+ based on experience and additional duties.
  • PAYE Contract: PAYE contract.
  • Start Date: ASAP.
