Manufacturing Operations Director

    Futures is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Director to lead the operational functions of an expanding manufacturing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing new lean manufacturing principles, managing a cultural change programme, and liaising with senior management to create an improved structure throughout production, engineering, quality, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manufacturing Excellence: Ensure products are manufactured to the correct specification and quality, within the applicable time frames, to satisfy customer demands.
  2. Lean Manufacturing: Implement lean manufacturing principles to increase efficiencies, reduce waste, and add to bottom line profits.
  3. People Management: Work with a team of 100+ across multiple sites to ensure KPIs are being hit and manufacturing is improving.
  4. Culture Change: Push change throughout the organisation and sustain it in the long term.
  5. Manufacturing Systems: Improve manufacturing systems, supporting IT, and regularly followed processes to their full potential.
Requirements
  1. Education to Degree level or equivalent, preferably in an engineering discipline.
  2. Experience working within a manufacturing environment at a senior level.
  3. Previous work history at a company where furniture manufacturing is a significant part of the manufacturing process.
  4. Experience of working with large teams within a manufacturing business.
  5. Ability to implement new ideas into a manufacturing business to increase efficiencies, reduce waste, or increase profit.
