Salary: The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description:

  • We are seeking a compassionate and hard-working Class Teaching Assistant to join our team in a Pupil Referral Unit in Northumberland, working with pupils aged 6-14.
  • The successful candidate will have experience of working with students who have SEMH/behavioural issues and/or other SEND needs, such as ADHD, Autism, and ADD.
  • You will need to be proactive in your approach to working with students from challenging backgrounds and be encouraging, energetic, engaging, and supportive.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Teaching Assistant or Youth Work qualification is essential.
  • Experience of working with SEMH and/or a willingness to work with children with disadvantaged backgrounds who struggle to adapt to mainstream schools is required.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to engage with children with SEMH in a proactive way are also essential.
