Job Title: Field Research Scientist

As a Field Research Scientist, you will play a key role in delivering practical research for a range of agricultural and horticultural crops. Your responsibilities will include developing specialist technical expertise, delivering on-site trial work, and implementing applied research and knowledge exchange.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality research and advice to clients on agricultural and environmental issues.
  • Develop and implement research projects, including designing and conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to ensure effective communication and delivery of research outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of new research ideas and proposals, and participate in the review and evaluation of research projects.
  • Assist in the management of research projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Person Specification:

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Previous experience in research and development is not required, as in-house and external training will be provided.
  • A full driving license to drive manual vehicles in the UK is essential.
  • Ability to travel within the UK and overseas, as required.
