We are seeking a skilled interpreter to join our team at Language Empire, providing professional interpreting and translation services to the public and private sectors across the UK. As a freelance interpreter, you will work with various settings such as the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation, and other public and private organizations.
Our ideal candidate will have fluent English and another language, with formal qualifications such as a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) or a Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages. You will be responsible for interpreting for people using legal, health, and local government services, checking the non-English speakers' understanding, and liaising between the service user and service provider.
As a self-employed interpreter, you will have the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home, with ongoing help and support from our dedicated in-house team. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge through continuous professional development and support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Interpreting for people using legal, health, and local government services
- Checking the non-English speakers' understanding
- Liaising between the service user and service provider
Requirements:
- Fluent in English and another language
