Transport UK Rail Replacement Bus Controller

Transport UK Rail Replacement provides a specialist service to the UK Rail Industry when train services are disrupted by planned engineering work or emergency incidents.

Our highly experienced rail replacement team offers a fully managed service for the provision of coaches, buses, small vehicles, and taxis.

As a Bus Controller, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating bus operations to ensure the transport of passengers during planned and unplanned rail replacement operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and track planned coaches each day, ensuring they are sourced to provide a quality customer-focused response.
  • Provide efficient and effective administrative support, as well as undertaking a coordinated daily close-down of emergency costs with all our TOC clients' control staff.
  • Ensure all incident and accident investigations are managed within agreed timelines. The control team will be the focal point on the day for information gathering.
  • Work effectively with external suppliers, colleagues, and agencies (HAUC).
  • Have a duty of care for the health and safety of yourself and colleagues at all times, including a duty to report unsafe acts or omissions to safety.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.

Requirements

  • An individual who can develop effective working relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
  • Can handle high-pressure situations in a calm and logical manner.
  • Able to communicate effectively both written and oral.
  • It will be desirable if applicants can demonstrate previous experience administering logistics or passenger transport.
  • The posts involve shift working on a rota basis covering early and night shift patterns.
