About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Assistant to join our team at Penderels Trust. As a Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with autism to develop their skills and maximize their independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and/or prompt the individual to attend appointments as necessary, including hospital and doctor visits.
  • Assist with transportation to and from school, work, college, and social activities.
  • Encourage socialization and participation in activities, promoting friendships and independence.
  • Develop a strong and trusting working relationship with the individual.
  • Evidence of the ability to remain calm and resilient under pressure, while maintaining a positive and optimistic attitude.
  • Understand the importance of seeking guidance and support when required.
Requirements
  • Be honest, reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
  • Be able to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
  • Be patient, supportive, and caring, with good listening skills and the ability to provide non-judgmental emotional support.
  • Be empathetic and have previous caring experience.
  • Be able to work flexibly, adapting to the individual's needs on a daily basis.
  • Have a lively personality and be a car driver and owner with business insurance.
