Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilities Maintenance: Clean and maintain laboratory and public areas, including restrooms and the warehouse, to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and buff floors, empty bins, and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Support Laboratory Staff: Assist laboratory technicians with tasks such as loading and unloading glassware from dishwashers and sterilizers.
  • Canteen Maintenance: Clean the canteen area after each meal service and maintain the coffee machine.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Sweep and clean warehouse floors to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Requirements:

  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Adaptability: Show adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced laboratory setting.
  • Health and Safety: Understand laboratory Health & Safety protocols and procedures.
  • Prioritization: Prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and ensure a smooth operation.
  • Procedures: Work to established procedures and protocols to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Science and Biology: A keen interest in science and/or biology is desirable, but not required.
  • COSHH Knowledge: Possess knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) protocols and procedures.
