Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have experience of working with patients with complex communication and swallowing disorders associated with head and neck cancer.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' communication and swallowing abilities and develop and implement specialist speech and language therapy treatment plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with head and neck cancer.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
  • Supervise and mentor students and less experienced Speech and Language Therapists.

Person Specification

  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent.
  • Post-graduate dysphagia accreditation or equivalent.
  • Relevant post-registration training in Head and Neck Oncology and Voice.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Evidence of training as a clinical supervisor.
  • MBSImp Certified.
