About the Opportunity

Bruin is looking for an experienced Legal Analyst to join its Global Privacy Legal Team. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to track and analyze developments in the data privacy and technology space, helping our business navigate the evolving landscape.

Job Description:

This position requires a deep understanding of global data privacy and protection regulations, including GDPR, PECR, e-Privacy Directive, DPA 2018, and the evolving EU AI Act. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing critical support related to these regulations, including leading the review of incident reports, assisting in preparing GDPR-related documentation, and supporting the development of privacy policies and standards.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of relevant work experience in privacy, with a strong background in financial services being beneficial. They should demonstrate knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, PECR, DPA 2018, and have basic knowledge of the EU AI Act. Prior experience in Data Privacy/Security/Governance/Policy drafting is essential, along with excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver clear and concise information to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide critical support related to global data privacy and protection regulations, including GDPR, PECR, e-Privacy Directive, DPA 2018, and the evolving EU AI Act.
  • Lead the review of incident reports to identify, investigate, and dispose of potential privacy incidents.
  • Assist in preparing GDPR-related documentation, such as DPIAs, and ensure alignment with global standards and internal policies.
  • Support the development of privacy policies, standards, and procedures for privacy programs.
  • Participate in projects to provide expertise on applicable regulatory and reporting requirements specific to global data privacy laws and regulations.
  • Support the development and maintenance of privacy, AI, and cyber governance policies, procedures, and standards for our business.
  • Develop and lead delivery of privacy/AI-related training to internal partners across the enterprise.
  • Participate in new projects as and when required.

Requirements:

  • Rélevant Legal Degree or similar qualification.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience in privacy.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, PECR, DPA 2018.
  • Prior Data Privacy/Security/Governance/Policy drafting experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver clear and concise information to various stakeholders.

Salary:

Competitive salary of £80,000 per annum, plus performance bonus and benefits.
