We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our client's team in Barnsley. As a key member of the purchasing department, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality materials and products from reputable suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of procurement principles and practices, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions. You will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the purchase order process, negotiating contracts, and monitoring supplier performance. You will also work closely with the production team to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the purchase order process, from requisition to delivery
  • Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers
  • Monitoring supplier performance and implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports on procurement activities
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives

Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Good understanding of procurement systems and processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
