Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Welder / Fabricator)

Location: Milton Keynes

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm

Salary: Circa £45,000 (depending on experience) + Overtime at £35 per hour + Extensive benefits

This international food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced mechanical technician / welder / fabricator to join their engineering team in Milton Keynes. The successful candidate will be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend all site maintenance on both food production equipment and site infrastructure.
  • Maintain loose equipment and fabrication repairs of assets.
  • Design and build bespoke items to improve production site reliability.
  • Complete fabrication audit work in a timely manner.
  • Install pipework and infrastructure items.
  • Maintain high standards across workshops, toolboxes, and associated engineering areas.
  • General mechanical and maintenance fitting on new developments or continuous improvement projects.
  • Lead site fabrication and welding standards, predominantly Stick and TIG welding & hygienic welding to food / clean surfaces.
  • Record all work on CMMS.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out within company and legislative health and safety guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Experience in mechanical maintenance and fabrication.
  • Strong knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
