Job Title: Adjunct Faculty

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Emergency Medical Services courses at Virginia Peninsula Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering instruction, assessing student learning, and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Emergency Medical Services courses, including Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Critical Care, Mobile Integrated Healthcare, and Tactical Emergency Medical Support.
  • Design and deliver instruction that meets the needs of diverse student populations.
  • Assess student learning and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Emergency Medical Services or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Current National Registry certification at Paramedic level or Virginia certification at Paramedic Level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong commitment to student-centered teaching and learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Emergency Medical Services or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Current certification as a Virginia EMS Education Coordinator.
  • Previous instructional experience in a CoAEMSP accredited EMS program.
  • Community college teaching experience.
