About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our software development team as a Software Engineer Industrial Placement. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a range of projects, develop your skills, and contribute to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and test new drivers for hardware that controls experiments at ISIS
  • Develop and maintain user interfaces
  • Maintain a comprehensive suite of automated tests
  • Create and deploy new releases of the IBEX control system
  • Interact with customers and other team members
  • Participate in agile development processes
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled on an undergraduate degree course and returning to university to complete your degree after the placement
  • Required or requested to take an industrial placement year
  • Right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the placement
  • Excellent knowledge of modern programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or C++
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming paradigm
  • Good communication and team working skills
  • Desire to learn new skills and be open-minded and flexible
