Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Lead Nurse to join our team at a leading mental health hospital in South West London. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing specialist clinical knowledge and expertise to support the nursing team and wider MDT.

The successful candidate will have oversight of the clinical and care needs of all service users, working closely with primary nurses, patients, their families, community teams, and other stakeholders to meet individual needs. They will also ensure proactive clinical risk assessment and management are at the centre of planning care and interventions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert knowledge and support to the nursing team and wider MDT
  • Oversight of clinical and care needs of all service users
  • Ensuring proactive clinical risk assessment and management
  • Constructively reviewing and challenging nursing practice
  • Providing education and development of Registered Nurses and HCAs
  • Contributing to clinical elements of nurse induction, preceptorship, and related professional activities
  • Providing clinical supervision and reflective practice sessions
  • Undertaking competency assessments and supportive practice

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' experience working within multidisciplinary teams in relevant clinical settings, with a strong clinical leadership background. They will be confident working across organisational boundaries, experienced in leading on service development projects, and an exceptional communicator.

The successful Lead Nurse will receive a competitive salary of £50,375 - £56,329 per annum, plus a range of benefits including a £5,000 welcome bonus, NMC payment in full, free on-site parking, and access to development opportunities.
