This role presents a unique chance to make a meaningful impact in the delivery of palliative and end-of-life care within the NHS. As a Consultant, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients and their loved ones.

The Trust is committed to ensuring that we deliver the best possible care for our patients, and this post reflects that commitment. You will work closely with other Consultants to provide a consultant-led service, developing close relationships with hospital clinical teams and providing remote clinical advice and support.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide Consultant-level care, advice, and support across various hospital settings, including occasional collaborations with local hospices and community teams.
  • Conduct regular hospital inpatient reviews and outpatient reviews as needed.
  • Develop strong working relationships with hospital clinical teams, offering remote clinical guidance, undertaking clinical reviews, and assessments.
  • Contribute to medical audits, service improvement initiatives, and integration efforts.
  • Support the Clinical Lead in policy and strategy development as a senior member of the Division Management Team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • GMC registration.
  • CCT or equivalent.
  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Certificate/Diploma in Palliative Care.
  • Postgraduate teaching qualification.
