Job Title: Hospital Staff Nurse

We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic qualified nurses to join our medical division at Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients with acute medical conditions, including respiratory care and stroke.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-professional team to provide compassionate, patient-centred care.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients, ensuring their needs are met and their care is tailored to their individual requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of local quality improvements and actively influence the future development of our services.
  • Utilize digital tools to manage rosters and access advanced roster management systems.
Person Specification:
  • Evidence of current NMC Registration.
  • Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor qualification or willingness to complete.
  • Additional post-registration qualification relevant to the field of practice (desirable).
  • Continuing professional development (desirable).
  • Role-specific training relevant to the specialty of the post (desirable).
  • Teaching qualification (desirable).
  • Leadership qualification (desirable).
Knowledge, Experience, and Expertise:
  • Knowledge and skill to plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to a group of patients within the specialty of the post.
  • Experience of working with patients from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Experience of working as part of a team, with the ability to prioritize own workload.
  • Knowledge and skill in infection prevention and control principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge and skill in safeguarding principles and procedures.
  • IT literacy and ability to use NHS systems.
  • Competence in specialty or role-specific extended skills required of the post or willingness to undertake necessary training.
Communication and Relationships:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to adapt to meet the requirements of patients, their families/carers, and professional colleagues.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
