Job Title: Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at The Aurora Group. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our children with their learning and wellbeing, ensuring every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our class teachers to provide high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities and experiences. You will support the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum, aiming to help pupils achieve their full potential in all areas of learning.

You will be expected to establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils, promoting and encouraging independence and personal development. You will also contribute to maintaining high expectations of behaviour at all times.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality educational activities and experiences.
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the development of pupils' independence and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to achieve pupil outcomes.
Requirements:
  • GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above qualification is essential.
  • Working towards Level 2 award in Support work in schools or an equivalent is desirable.
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Knowledge or experience of pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD, ideally in an education setting.
  • Commitment to the role, the desire to put the child first, and treat them as an individual.
