The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our team in the Amarnath Laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in the area of immune regulation, with a focus on the function of T regulatory cells in osteoclast development.

The project will involve investigating the role of T regulatory cells in controlling tissue repair and regeneration in healthy immune systems, autoimmunity, and cancer. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and implement novel research methodologies, analyze data, and present findings in a clear and concise manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in the area of immune regulation, with a focus on T regulatory cells and osteoclast development
  • Develop and implement novel research methodologies, including 18 color flow cytometry experiments and analysis
  • Analyze data and present findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Contribute to grant applications and develop own research objectives and proposals for funding
  • Write proposals for individual research funding or contribute to the writing of collective bids
  • Assess research findings for the need/scope for further investigations
  • Contribute to the writing up of research for publication and dissemination
  • Present research findings at conferences or through publications in reputable outlets
Requirements
  • Good honours degree (or equivalent) with some subject knowledge in the relevant area
  • PhD in the research area required
  • Experience in 18 color flow cytometry experiments and analysis
  • Experience in single cell and spatial transcriptomics experiments and analysis
  • Experience in bioinformatics packages (R studio) relevant to the research within the themes
  • Knowledge of immune-mediated and skin diseases including skin cancers
Desirable
  • Experience of communicating scientific concepts to the public
  • Involvement/success in obtaining training grants, PhD Studentships or fellowships
