About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Carnoustie Golf Links, as part of the Rookery Restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting our Head Chef in delivering exceptional food quality and service to our guests.

This is a permanent position, working an average of 46 hours per week (on annualised hours). You will be expected to work evening and weekend shifts, as well as deputise for the Head Chef in their absence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu development, food purchasing, and storage
  • Lead a team of chefs in the kitchen, ensuring a consistent and high-quality food offering
  • Comply with all food hygiene and health and safety legislation
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu ideas
  • Manage kitchen inventory and supplies
Requirements
  • Exceptional cooking skills and experience in a similar role
  • 14-19 Catering Diploma, SVQ Level 3 Professional Cookery, or relevant industry experience
  • Experience in menu development, food purchasing, and storage
  • Leadership skills and ability to motivate a team
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety legislation
