Job Title: Supply Teacher of Physical Education

Job Description:

GSL Education is seeking an ambitious and passionate Teacher of Physical Education to work at an Outstanding Client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire.

As a Supply Teacher of PE, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible Physical Education lessons to students across Key stages 3, 4, and 5. You will play a key role in promoting physical activity, teamwork, and personal development, while ensuring that all students, regardless of their abilities, feel included and supported.

Requirements:

  • A recognised UK teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or equivalent, with a specialism in Physical Education.
  • A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience teaching GCSE and BTEC Physical Education.
  • Strong understanding of physical education curriculum requirements, sports coaching techniques, and fitness principles.
  • Experience working in SEN settings or with students who have additional needs is desirable.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies, with the ability to follow school procedures and ensure student safety.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered to the update service. GSL Education can offer DBS sponsorship.
