Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of travel consultants and take on a senior retail travel management role within a well-established independent travel agency based in Hertfordshire.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced sales-focused retail travel professional with strong leadership skills and previous experience in booking holidays face-to-face or over the phone. The ideal candidate will have a passion for travel and be able to inspire and motivate their team to deliver exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a small team of travel consultants, providing guidance and support to ensure maximum productivity and enthusiasm.
  • Book all aspects of a holiday face-to-face or over the phone, using excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Promote the business to new markets and attend trade events, identifying opportunities for growth and development.
  • Organise daily workloads and delegate tasks to appropriate personnel, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Monitor team and individual performance throughout the day, providing constructive feedback and coaching to improve performance.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Team Leader, Assistant Manager, or Branch Manager within the travel industry.
  • Demonstrated sales experience in travel, with a track record of meeting targets and exceeding expectations.
  • Excellent understanding of the travel industry, including market trends and consumer behaviour.
  • Self-motivated and able to multitask, with effective time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong questioning and listening skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues alike.
  • The ability to work under pressure, remaining calm and composed in fast-paced environments.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 9am - 5pm

Saturday: 9am - 3pm
