About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Content Designer to join our Corporate Communications and Campaigns team at Watford Borough Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in creating engaging and visually appealing content across various digital and traditional platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with our corporate goals and objectives
  • Design and create high-quality visual content, including graphics, videos, and photography, to support our communications and campaigns
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement effective content plans that drive engagement and results
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in content design and digital communications
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues on content design and creation

Requirements

  • Graduate standard or equivalent education and/or relevant experience in content design
  • Thorough understanding and practical application of the latest versions of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Exceptional creativity and innovation in the field of content design
  • Strong written skills, including ability to sub-edit copy
  • Advanced knowledge of camera and photography equipment
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience in branding
  • Good understanding of how to get across corporate messages and tell a story through creative design
  • Good communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to present ideas and concepts to a range of audiences
  • Ability to manage own workload and changing priorities
  • Strong team working skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Understanding of the need for confidentiality

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary of £38,324 - £42,406 per annum (pro rata)
  • 22.5 hours per week
  • A basic Disclosure check will be carried out for this post
