Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at the University System of New Hampshire. As a key member of our Financial Operations Center, you will be responsible for performing advanced accounting duties, supervising junior accounting staff, and collaborating with the Manager, Accounting Support.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex accounting and financial analysis, including ledger maintenance, cost analysis, and fund reconciliation.
- Prepare and review financial reports, statements, and projections for leadership and funding agencies.
- Supervise and train junior accounting staff, delegating responsibilities and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor and maintain key accounting information, interpreting and analyzing financial operations and transactions.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and make recommendations regarding accounting and database applications.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or commensurate experience and/or relevant certifications.
- 3 or more years of professional experience in accounting or finance, with expertise in standard finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
- Excellent mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with ability to interact with standard technology platforms.
- Proficiency in navigating automated accounting/financial systems and familiarity with standard audit practices and financial reporting requirements.
- Advanced degree in a relevant field and/or additional credentials in accounting or finance.
- Public accounting experience and prior supervisory experience in a capacity related to finance or accounting.
- Experience operating or leading in a shared service setting.
