Specialist Classroom Assistant

We are seeking a Specialist Classroom Assistant to join our team at a thriving Primary School in Chingford, London. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with non-verbal Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and be able to provide individualized support to enhance their academic potential.
The successful applicant will work closely with the senior leadership team to monitor and coordinate the learning progress of the child, collaborating with staff to ensure the curriculum is delivered effectively within their needs.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting the child's educational journey by adapting teaching methods to meet their unique requirements.
- Maintaining a safe and nurturing environment in the classroom, fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Collaborating with teachers to implement effective strategies for managing behavioral triggers, emotional outbursts, and promoting social skills development.
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Previous experience working with children with ASD or other special needs, although this is not essential.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the child and the school community.
A competitive daily rate of £83.33-£100 per day, depending on experience.
