Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Barrow-in-Furness. As a key member of our commissioning team, you will be responsible for the testing and commissioning of onboard mechanical systems.

About the Role
  • Carry out routine work with limited supervision in a high-risk environment.
  • Keep accurate records of work activities as required by policy, procedure, and regulation.
  • Represent the company on Factory Acceptance Tests and offsite test facilities, Contractors Sea Trials, and other outworking requirements.
  • Deliver assigned activities in line with company policy, procedures, and legislation.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for testing and commissioning activities of onboard mechanical systems.
  2. Knowledge of mechanical system operation, ideally hydraulic, pressurised air and gas, domestic and chilled water, and tank testing.
  3. Experience with commissioning of complex systems and plants.
  4. Understanding of Mechanical Flushing and Pressure & Endurance Testing and setting to work of systems.
  5. Write and issue Rip Out documentation to process, identifying correct isolations to safely isolate ship's systems.
Requirements
  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering is desirable.
