Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Kitchen Team Member at Queen Bee's Day Nursery Ltd. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of meals, maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, and ensuring that all health and safety regulations are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain the kitchen area, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for food preparation and service.
  • Prepare food items as necessary, adhering to our company's food safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure that all food items are stored and handled properly, following our company's inventory management procedures.
  • Manage stock rotation within the nursery's kitchen, minimizing waste and optimizing inventory levels.
  • Follow safety and sanitation guidelines when handling food items, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist in the preparation of meals as needed, working collaboratively with our kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals to our children.
  • Assist in the cleaning of dishes, utensils, and other kitchen equipment, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Loading and unloading the dishwasher, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and sanitized.
  • Filling in all paperwork associated with our kitchen, including QBDN's kitchen documentation and Environmental Health records.
  • Managing dietary and allergy food, supporting the individual needs of our children and ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Communicating meals to the rooms, ensuring that all children receive their meals in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Preparing numbers of bowls/plates/cups etc for the required number of children at each mealtime routine, ensuring that all meals are served in a clean and hygienic environment.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience in a kitchen setting (preferably in a nursery or childcare environment).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with our kitchen team.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to our company's health and safety standards.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekdays and occasional overtime.
