Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accounts Officer to join our team at Venn Group. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing critical support to our financial accounting function.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Reconcile and manage accounting inputs for bank accounts, petty cash, and balance sheet control accounts across various entities.
  2. Work with accuracy and in line with month-end and year-end timetables.
  3. Conduct banking reviews for individual cost centres and liaise with regional accounting teams to resolve any issues that emerge in the banking review process.
  4. Support regional accounting teams on bank account-related queries.
  5. Work with banking providers to resolve practical issues such as lost banking and unpaid cheques.
  6. Prepare and post journals for adjustments arising from bank reconciliation differences to ensure the accuracy of the data on the systems.
  7. Assist the Management Accountant with the posting of regular regional journals.
  8. Assist the wider finance team to close month end in a robust and timely manner to ensure the successful achievement of the financial timetable.
  9. Assist in the production of audit files at the mid-year point and at year-end, ensuring timely and accurate data provision to support relevant reporting schedules, engaging proactively with the internal and external auditing team.

Requirements:

  1. AAT Level 4 qualification (desirable).
  2. Previous experience reconciling multiple bank accounts.
  3. Experience working in a busy complex finance environment.
  4. Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
