Job Title: Principal Flood Risk Modeller

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Flood Risk Modeller to join our Flooding and Water Management Team.

As a key member of our team, you will work on a variety of flood risk assessments, EIAs, flood risk management and alleviation schemes across the UK, for infrastructure/utilities and development schemes in both the public and private sectors.

You will provide technical direction to the teams' modellers and be responsible for the quality of flood risk modelling deliverables, using your experience in flood risk assessment and management within a multi-disciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing projects, working within agreed deliverables, key milestones, project methodology, quality assurance and control strategy.
  • Providing technical guidance and supervising the deliverables of team members.
  • Acting as a mentor for team members, supporting the development of their skills.

Requirements include:

  • Significant experience in hydraulic modelling applied to a range of projects.
  • Good technical understanding of UK hydrology and open channel hydraulics.
  • Knowledge and experience of standard hydraulic modelling packages.
  • Ability to lead and manage projects, working within agreed deliverables, key milestones, project methodology, quality assurance and control strategy.
  • Chartered status from an appropriate institution (C.Eng or C.WEM).
  • MSc/MEng and/or PhD focussed on either hydrology, hydraulic modelling, water resources or other applied environmental science subject.
