Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join our team at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre. As a clinical expert, you will provide specialist knowledge and advice to nurses and junior medical staff, and work towards safe and timely discharge plans.

Main Duties
  • Act as a clinical expert providing specialist knowledge and advice to both nurses and junior medical staff working within the unit.
  • Work towards safe and timely discharge plans and ensure barriers to discharge are identified and acted on in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Be proactive in supporting the nursing team and acting as a positive role model always promoting best clinical and professional practice.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills. Be actively involved in recruitment and staff development reviews. Facilitate orientation and training programmes.
  • Act as nurse or ward representative at local and wider meetings.
  • Participate and assist with systematic monitoring of performance and evaluation of nursing practice

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse Level 1
  • Current NMC Registration
  • Evidence of formal ongoing professional development
  • Relevant accredited post registration qualification at level 3
  • Qualification in Teaching, assessing and Mentoring
  • Willingness to work towards Masters level academic study
