Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class C+E driver to join our team. As a Class C+E driver, you will be responsible for delivering our finished frozen food products to care homes, local authorities, hospitals, and our Wiltshire Farm Foods franchisees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure road worthiness
  • Full compliance with drivers' hours, tachographs, and road traffic regulations
  • Drive in a safe and economical manner, with a focus on minimizing damage to vehicles and cargo
  • Act as an ambassador for Apetito, providing excellent customer service and representing the company in a professional manner
  • Undertake minor vehicle service activities, such as cleaning and refueling
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, both internally and externally
  • Deliver and collect vehicles as required, including any necessary inspections
  • Participate in a daily debrief process to identify safety, service, and operational improvements
  • Supervise and assist with loading activities at cross-dock sites
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of full-time Class C+E driving experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Full Class C+E license
  • Good understanding of drivers' hours regulations, working time directive, and tachographs
  • Good operational knowledge of modern commercial vehicles
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Driver CPC
Desirable Qualifications
  • Clean driving license
  • Temperature control transport experience
  • Experience of multi-drop deliveries
  • Experience of operating tail lifts and double-deck trailers
  • Experience of working with wheeled delivery equipment

  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Able to juggle the demands of a busy schedule, traffic conditions, and other road users
  • Must be calm under pressure
  • High standard of personal presentation to uphold the company brand
  • Flexible and responsive to business needs
  • Must be physically active due to the nature and demands of the role
Circumstances
  • Must be prepared to drive in different weather conditions
  • Must live within a reasonable traveling distance to the depot
